Review ★ Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

I'm still trying to be more active ;_;~ I recently got my package from Jolse, so I'll do a haul post along with some reviews once I get my Beautynetkorea stuff. That also gives me time to test some of the skin care products I purchased before reviewing them!

Anyways! In March, I bought a bunch of products from Sasa, including this Bioderma cleanser. I was looking for something effective and light on the face, because my skin broke out badly and I didn't want to use a cleansing oil in case that made things worse. I still have some scars on my cheek from that time u_u.

There are numerous reviews raving about this product, so I decided to try it out. It is pretty much an award-winning HG product, as well as a cult favourite to many. The vast majority of reviews speak of this product very highly. It is supposed to be great for those with sensitive skin because of its gentle formula! Also, many people say it tones down redness, since it doesn't irritate their skin when they remove their makeup or use it to cleanse. Whereas some cleansers may be too mild, or the person is just rubbing their face too much.

At the cutting edge of innovation, Bioderma has pioneered micellar solutions. Specially formulated for sensitive, normal to dry skins, the Sensibio H2O micelle solution cleanses face and eyes. It removes water-resistant make-up. The micelles contained in its formula effectively micro-emulsify impurities while maintaining the skin's balance (soap-free, physiological pH).

Soothing and decongesting active ingredients prevent the feelings of irritation often caused by cleansing. Sensibio H2O guarantees excellent cutaneous and ocular tolerance (tested under ophthalmological supervision).

It is also fragrance and alcohol-free.

Soak a cotton pad with the product and cleanse the face and eyes, and/or remove any make-up. It needs no rinsing but it is essential to dry your skin.

I'll start off by saying that I used it frequently during the school year, since I always wore makeup to school (except finals period, because I just can't be bothered by then LOL). But not so much during the summer, because I don't go out on a daily basis, and I've been trying out other cleansers. Recently, I've been using it to cleanse my face in the morning, instead of my Philosophy cleanser. I won't lie, I'm pretty lazy LOL, so eliminating the step of rinsing off my face just feels a little more convenient.

The product comes in a really simple plastic bottle, which is probably underwhelming to some, especially since it doesn't have a pump dispenser. To some, it might be a little hard to control how much product comes out since you have to pour it onto a cotton pad. Nonetheless, you should be fine as long as you're careful and you hold the cotton pad close to the hole.

I have the following products on my arm (left to right): Innisfree juicy gloss pencil, YSL volupte sheer candy glossy balm, Innisfree creamy tint lipstick, MUFE full cover concealer, The Face Shop face it aura CC cream, Stila smudge crayon, Dollywink liquid eyeliner, Benefit they're real push-up liner, Holika Holika magic pole mascara. 

That is the result of removing everything with a cotton pad!

Overall, I think it's really great! In my opinion and experience, I do believe that it lives up to the hype. It removes makeup very well; better than some of the liquid cleansers and cleansing wipes that I've used in the past. Although you can very faintly see some of the red from the Innisfree juicy gloss pencil because it stains the skin. For eye makeup, I use it similarly to a waterproof eye makeup remover. I soak a pad, and hold it to my eye for around 10 seconds so the makeup dissolves, then I rub it off gently, and a majority of the makeup is removed. It took a little more effort to remove the Benefit They're Real Push-up Liner though, and although not pictured, it doesn't remove waterproof mascara too well. I would recommend using an eye makeup remover or cleansing oil to remove any waterproof mascara or eyeliner on your tightline/lashline, since those are a lot more effective at removing those types of makeup~

It takes around 3 cotton pads to remove all the makeup on my face. Some people use it as a one-step cleanser, but personally I still go in with a light cleanser to make sure there's absolutely no traces of makeup left on my face before I go to sleep (on days that I have school, or whenever I go out until late).

As a cleanser, it feels very refreshing to the face. And of course, it leaves my face feeling clean~ It doesn't leave a heavy or tight feeling after using it, which is good for those with sensitive or dry skin. Also, there isn't any sticky residue or feeling once you dry off your face- I think the sticky feeling is an issue with some cleansers, where your face just doesn't feel completely clean even after cleansing. The gentle formula didn't irritate my skin or cause my skin to breakout further in March, which was great for me. I think it slightly improved the texture of my skin too, so it looks and feels a lot smoother now!

Although it says its fragrance-free, there is a light scent to it. I can't describe it, but it's very faint.

W H E R E   T O   B U Y?
I purchased it from Sasa for $23.00 USD, but it doesn't seem to be properly listed on the site anymore. Like there is a page for it, but you can't add it to cart :<.  I think a lot of places markup the price, considering the one I purchased was 500ml, but a lot of stores stock the 250ml one for around the same price. You can find it on Murale, Amazon, and I think some drugstores carry it too (supposedly Shoppers Drug Mart sells it).

Also! Completely unrelated to beauty and whatnot LOL, I have been obsessed with this song by Chen from Exo <3. It was love at first listen on Tumblr.
